I loved the sister hostel in Tbilisi, so I came with high hopes. This one fell short. There wasn’t much of a social scene without a bar or rooftop, the staff felt less welcoming, and the rooms had a lot of noise and light coming in. Guests kept leaving the bedroom door open, and the bed lights are incredibly bright. I was woken up again and again by people coming in late and switching on their lights. That never happened in Tbilisi, where the lights must have been dimmer or the guests more considerate. I stayed five nights anyway because the location was good, the price was decent, and I couldn’t face switching hostels again.

You can meet travelers from all over and spend time in the pleasant open space. There are tours to book, laundry service, and private rooms, and just about anything you need is nearby. Envoy is on a quiet street in the heart of Yerevan, close to the central sights. One frustrating thing: some dorm guests keep lights on and play shows or movies late at night, with no thought for roommates who need quiet sleep after traveling.

The room was clean and nice, the bed comfortable, and the staff friendly with good English. The hostel is right in the city center, and you can pay by card. For the price, it’s a solid place. There’s just one toilet and shower, so you may have to wait, and the bedside lights are an unpleasant white instead of a warmer yellow. Small issues, and I’d gladly come back.

Really nice people and a great location. It’s easy to meet locals, and the employees are happy to help with whatever you need. They know tours very well and can arrange standard or private ones.

The larger dorms are better ventilated than the smaller ones, which really helps in summer. The hostel is clean, including the common area, and has a good central location. Staff were helpful with directions and transport advice. I’d recommend it.
