Europe Hotel

The location is lovely and the staff are amazing, but the hotel is very old and needs renovations and more facilities. What bothered me most was the value for money. I booked on the understanding that I’d arrive and pay, but they charged me before I got there. When I told management, they said that was normal.

The rooms were spacious and clean, and the breakfast had plenty of options and was very good. The staff were all friendly and professional. Since the hotel is in central yerevan, almost everything is within walking distance. I’ve stayed in hotels at all sorts of prices around the world, and this has been the best one so far.

The service was so good I’d give it 10/5. They can book a taxi for you if you ask, and the room was bright with plenty of lighting. We slept really well in the comfortable bed at Europe hotel. The spacious bathroom has an enclosed shower, so water stays off the rest of the floor, though I missed having a bidet. We’d brought a portable dipper, so cleaning ourselves was still comfortable. Slippers are available on request, too. Breakfast was simple and just okay. The TV had no shows when we visited. We got two complimentary bottles of water and tea on the first day, but after that they charge for them when requested.

I’ve stayed here twice, and the only thing I liked was the location, close to the city center. For me, that doesn’t make up for the experience, and I won’t stay again even for free. I travel often and have stayed at many hotels around the world, but this was my worst hotel stay. I’d give it two stars at most, not four. Every 3-4 minutes, trains rumble past near the metro route, and during the day there’s construction noise right beside the hotel. Good sleep was pretty much out of the question. The mattresses were so soft and springy I felt I might roll off when turning over. Staff were polite, and some spoke English well, but they weren’t helpful. You can’t adjust the room temperature yourself, and it was so hot I felt like I was burning unless I opened the window. With construction just outside, plus flies and cold air coming in at night, opening it was uncomfortable too.
