Grand Hills Hotel

The rooms are spacious and clean, and the staff were helpful with our luggage. For a couple of days in Yerevan, the hotel is not bad. But when I arrived at 13:00, reception told me to pay 10,000 AMD or cancel my booking.com reservation. I said I was happy to wait until 14:00 for check-in, but instead of offering me a seat in the lobby, the receptionist pointed me to the exit. That felt very unprofessional. I hope they don't ask guests for this kind of thing in future.

The city views from the room were great, with a cool breeze coming in. Breakfast was decent enough to get the day started. It's fine for a 3 star hotel, though it's far from the city centre, and checkout was difficult at first because they wouldn't accept a card.

The rooms are big, which was the one good thing about my stay. I booked through booking.com, but many of the details on the listing were wrong. Staff were rude and unprofessional, and no one could communicate in English. There was no card payment option, no kettle in the room, and very little choice at breakfast. I had to leave two days early because they couldn't resolve the card payment issue, and they charged me for one extra day even though I didn't stay. The lift doors also open either one floor above or below the rooms.

We felt right at home at the Grand Hills Hotel, and it exceeded every expectation. The pool was well kept and had all the amenities, while the big rooms were clean and included a TV, fridge, and sofa. Breakfast was plentiful and tasty, with lots of options from the very nice cook. Everyone on the staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating. A perfect escape for a relaxing holiday. We'll be back soon :)
