The host, Mariam, was attentive, very nice, and hospitable. When another hotel told us they were overbooked, she literally saved us from having nowhere to stay and cared about our experience throughout. The hotel itself was beautiful, modern, and well maintained, and overall it was great value for money.

The owner was nice enough to upgrade us from a shared bathroom, and there was a fridge in the hotel. The rooms are small, though, with compact bathrooms that have no ventilation. The rooms with bathrooms are right on the road, but noise was minimal. My main problem was the duvets, which seemed like they had never been cleaned. We had to put them inside the covers ourselves, so we had to touch something that could technically be a health hazard. They smelled of old sweat mixed with lots of different perfumes. Bad.

Finding the hotel was difficult, and the rooms were in terrible shape, like old prison cells. The receptionist, who was also the owner, was rude and unfriendly. On our first day, she wouldn’t let us into our rooms unless we paid extra on top of what we had already paid online. We ended up calling the police and filing a report because we didn’t want other foreign tourists to be scammed the way we felt we had been. Be cautious and avoid this place.
