I would give this place zero stars if I could. I booked it for my wedding guests in Armenia after seeing the great reviews, and paid for the whole property and every room so they’d have a comfortable stay. While I was away, the owner gave one of the rooms to other tourists. When I called to ask what had happened, she said the amount I paid didn’t mean I could have the whole place. I had to find another place for the guests who were meant to stay in that room. Breakfast was another problem. I was told it was included, but on my wedding day, while I was getting ready, I found out my guests hadn’t been given any. The owner said she hadn’t known I wanted breakfast and that it would cost extra. The bathrooms were dirty too, and weren’t cleaned once during our stay. Booking here was the worst experience of my life.

Breakfast was the highlight, especially the delicious homemade cakes and coffee. The host was lovely and very polite, and the price was reasonable. It’s a nice hostel with rooms, though the location isn’t great. Taxis in Yerevan are very cheap, at least.

I booked a room about a week ahead during the mass departure from Russia a year ago. Less than a day before I was due to arrive, they wrote that their plumbing had broken and they couldn’t provide the room, and told me to find somewhere else. Accommodation prices had already shot up by 5-10 times. Booking.com tried to find another option but couldn’t, and its system doesn’t let you post a review when the accommodation cancels. The way these people treated me ruined my impression of my country and made me not want to visit again. I hope this was an exception, and that the few dishonest people responsible eventually pay for how they treat others. Short-term profit won’t bring happiness.

⚠️ ⚠️ ⚠️ We booked Diesel Hostel online and paid in advance, but when we arrived in the evening, nobody there knew about the reservation. The hostel was full, with no rooms left, and the staff just said they didn’t care and told us to leave. There’s no guarantee you’ll get the room you booked. I can’t recommend Diesel Hostel, and since we weren’t able to stay, I can’t say anything about the rooms. ⚠️ ⚠️ ⚠️
