There’s no place to store luggage, such as lockers, and there’s no hot water or room heater. The warden’s behavior was terrible and showed no respect for guests. With only one bathroom for 35 men, there’s always a queue. Cooking is restricted to 8-11 in the morning and 5-9:30 in the evening, and the line means you may not get a chance to cook during those hours. This was a terrible experience. If you’re looking for a very cheap hostel, please look somewhere else.
They lock guests inside at night and act as if that’s normal. It feels like a prison, and it’s a fire hazard and unsafe. Guests should be able to go out whenever they need to. They even believe this is legal, but staying here means they decide when you’re allowed outside. Absolutely ridiculous, and the staff are very rude. A horrible place to stay.
We spent six days at Shamrock hostel and had a lot of bitter experiences. There’s no hot water or room heater, and the washroom queue can get terribly long. There aren’t any facilities, and the receptionist, a Filipino lady, shouts at guests at any time. Her behavior is very bad.

The staff were friendly and the prices very good. But the bathrooms were so dirty and disgusting. Breakfast was supposed to be included, yet it wasn’t ready before we left at 9 a.m.
