Sleep Studio Hostel

The beds with curtains look nice at first, but I don’t think the mattresses are ever taken out or properly cleaned. There were crumbs, hair, dust, and other debris around mine, and the room smelled stale, damp, and unpleasant. There were very few showers, though luckily I was only there for one night. The place felt dark, dirty, and sketchy, and the owner was unfriendly. I booked through Booking.com, but after I paid at the property, my reservation somehow showed as canceled on Booking.com. I suspect that was done to avoid paying commission. This was the worst experience.

The beds are extremely spacious and private, the facilities are clean, and there are good amenities nearby. It’s a great location close to the centre. The vibe is quiet, with a friendly host and amiable guests, so it worked well for some low-key recovery time. Maybe not the best choice if you’re after a social experience, but I’d definitely recommend it for a quieter visit to Yerevan.

The owner was kind and caring, always checking in, and even let me stay a few extra hours. I felt comfortable and at home, and would recommend the hostel and stay again. Women’s beds are in an organized space with your own cabinet and key for safety. The shared kitchen is clean, tidy, and has some tools for cooking. The sheets, pillowcases, and comforters were very clean and bright white. The shared washroom was clean but small. There are two hand sinks, and the toilets are separated for women and men. It’s easy to find on the map for tour or taxi pickup and drop-off. Local markets, a money changer, a grocery, a food court, a church, and Republic center are all an easy 5-10 minute walk away. Thank you again for giving me extra hours to stay.

I mentioned that I prefer to keep my travel origins private, and suddenly there were no beds available. Before that, the manager had been friendly and professional, showed me an available bed, and started a brief personal interview. He gave no further explanation, but immediately updated the online booking systems to show the hostel was full. It was a surprising check-in attempt, but I have to respect someone so decisive and a methodical operation. This seems like a highly controlled place with a very specific, non-negotiable screening process. A unique experience.
