Umba Apartment N2

We stayed there for several weeks, and I still remember the experience even two years later. At first the host acted nice, but at checkout he complained that the pillows hadn’t been washed and had hair on them. I’ve stayed in plenty of hotels, apartments, and B&Bs, and being expected to wash the blanket and pillow before leaving seemed very unusual. It felt like he was trying to get more money for laundry, and it left me with a very bad impression of the country. After this place we moved to another apartment in the same city, where the host was helpful, nice, and polite, and had no issue with the pillow or blanket we used. I even checked with the new host beforehand to see whether washing them was an Armenian custom. If I’d rented this apartment through Booking.com, I would have left very negative feedback and reported him. The rental guy has a few other apartments, and he moved us into a dangerous building. Whenever the underground subway passed, the house shook badly and we felt it might collapse. It was frightening and unpleasant. If I hadn’t paid in advance, I would have left right away. We attached a photo from our stay and have more. I should have taken a video when he was trying to get more money at checkout.
