Your Hostel

I loved my stay here. The family who manages the place are lovely, and I really enjoyed talking ideas with the daughter, who’s a genius. When it wasn’t busy, the clean bathrooms were more than enough, and the breakfast was nice and filling. My room had six beds, but I had the whole shared room to myself. It was spacious, tidy, and incredibly quiet. You get a spectacular view of Ararat Mountain, though the hostel is on the third or fourth floor and there’s no elevator. If you’re young, the stairs shouldn’t be a problem. I visited in April and didn’t need AC, though I don’t think they have it. Finding the place can be a little tricky without a big sign, so call or text before checking in.

Lilian moved me to another room when I mentioned how much my roommate’s old alarm clock was ticking. I really appreciated that. I’d booked a room with two beds and was sharing with an older but nice Polish man who was considerate of his roommate too. The hostel is central, near food stalls, shops, and a supermarket, and it’s very quiet. The owner lives in the same building and would come by to check that things were okay and help with requests. There isn’t a heater in each room or in the living room, but when I asked, they quickly brought me a portable heater and an extra blanket. I’d recommend it to anyone looking for a quiet stay in Yerevan.

The rooms were unbearably hot, with no air conditioner. I regret choosing this place. Russian guys stayed up late every night, talking and laughing loudly, smoking, and disturbing the other guests. The one upside was the fair price.

The hostel and owners were good, though there was no air conditioning, as they’d already said. Around 80% of the guests were Russian, and they didn’t really want to talk.
