Executive Hotel Samba

The hotel was a comfortable, affordable place to stay, and served as our safe zone amid the chaos outside. We used taxis for the rest of our outings. The location is right in the middle of the chaos, though the price for what you get is good. The staff are very friendly, but seem to need hospitality training. We had to ask for the same thing several times, and they could be more proactive. The food was good, but buffet style and limited. Overall, good value, though there's room to improve.

The hotel is decent, but a few things need attention. There was no power socket beside the bed, and the food was bland with little variety. Some music would also make the atmosphere better.

The rooms are roomy and seem to have nearly everything, and for a four-star hotel in the city the price is fairly low. That’s where the good points mostly end. I wasn’t sure whether any expected amenities were missing, but the ones they have need improvement and regular upkeep. The food was decent for a four-star place. The hotel is also being overtaken by its competition and could end up forgotten, though I’d give it another chance if the beds and pillows were made more comfortable and ergonomic. There also need to be more outlets in the rooms, ideally one or two beside the beds. The beds didn’t look bad, but sleeping on mine felt like lying on a wooden plank. I have second-degree scoliosis, though, so it may just be a problem for me. I’m comparing this stay with my experiences at other four-star hotels in the city.

The octopus was cooked just right, and I was glad I tried it. The rest of the food was really nice too. The rooms were pleasant, and the Wi-Fi signal in mine was very good, which helped me keep in touch and answer emails while traveling without a local SIM. The location is handy for the airport, though being beside the main road means traffic noise takes some getting used to. It’s a very nice hotel at a reasonable price, and I’d recommend it as a budget-friendly place to stay.
