Hotel Residence Monalisa

I’d suggest asking for an odd-numbered room, since those have the best views of Luanda, especially at night. The hotel itself is well designed, and the rooms have decent furnishings, but I got very little attention when I raised complaints. Service needs to improve. The restaurant only serves the meal of the day, with no à la carte menu, so choices are limited. The breakfast buffet also fell short of what I’ve had at other hotels. It’s sufficient for accommodation, but the services that come with it are quite below par.

The atmosphere is calm and pleasant, and it’s a lovely hotel with lots of amenities. Still, it feels so empty, and it could use some improvements to bring the place back to life.

There can be a language gap between English and Portuguese, so explaining things may take a little longer. The staff are super friendly and very willing to help, though, and we were able to communicate in the end.

The air conditioner was leaking. There was only one master keycard, so I had to wait a day to get mine.
