2/10
The staff were really kind, and this is still one of the better options around here. I only needed a place to sleep for a nearby wedding over the weekend, and the rooms were OK. But the common areas, facilities, and food service fell short of what I'd expect from a Howard Johnson franchise. Breakfast was just low-quality pastries and coffee, with none of the savory buffet choices like scrambled eggs or bacon. It did the job, barely, so don't expect much.

The sink and shower water backed up, and when I mentioned it to the front desk, they said that was normal. It also wasn't as clean as on my previous stay. Breakfast used to be served, but now it's a sandwich made the night before and left wrapped on the bar, with no service. Some employees had a whatever attitude. My earlier stay was fair, not good, and this one was worse.
