Estancia Peuma Hue

The mountain lodge was a lovely place for the four of us, with superb accommodation, a gorgeous setting, a nice restaurant, plenty of vegetarian dishes, and a good breakfast. Staff were very friendly, and the animals were lovely and well cared for. We enjoyed the walk to the restaurant, though it's about 1 km and quite steep. That walk also helped keep things very peaceful. I took one star off because the extra activities felt too expensive. Yoga was $50, about twice the price of the most expensive studio in London. We couldn't rent kayaks or a sup to use ourselves, only book a very costly guided trip, which limited what we did. Even so, I’d highly recommend the accommodation.

What really made our three nights at Puema Hue memorable was how kind and thoughtful every staff member was, from reception to the restaurant. We never needed to leave for town. There are excellent trails starting at the estancia, the horse trek was one of our best experiences, and the gentle horses were good with the kids. The kayaking and riding guides were exceptional, and we also had a lovely yoga session with Clara. The cabins were comfortable and well equipped, and the setting by Lago Gutiérrez, with hills and forest all around, is wonderful. It’s an Estancia rather than a traditional hotel. Restaurant service could be a little slow, but the food was excellent. We’d go back in a heartbeat.

Eve is warm and so knowledgeable, and her staff are wonderful. We came from Iguazu Falls, which we thought would be hard to beat, but Peuma Hue made it seem easy, from the moment we arrived and met the lovely dogs who live there. The food was incredible, right up there with our favorite places back home in NYC. Horseback riding with the nicest guide was a treat, though you don't need a planned activity to have an unforgettable day. Just step outside and be there. I've rarely felt so in awe of a place and so at home at the same time. My father and I will always treasure those enchanting few days, and we're so glad we crossed paths with Eve and her paradise.

The Animales room in the Main Cabin had an unreal view and so many thoughtful, adorable touches in its design. I loved seeing the dogs, cats, horses, and birds wandering the property, and there’s loads of space to hike, explore, and ride. The scenery is breathtaking and the whole place feels magical. Eve has done something special bringing it to life, and she also puts real care into sustainability and reducing waste. The staff were wonderful. If you're wondering whether the price is worth it, I was pleasantly surprised. It exceeded my expectations, and I already want to return.
