Hotel Lagos Andinos

We ended up leaving for another hotel after a long argument, though they did refund our money. The whole stay was awful. My friend and I are 23 plus, know our way around hotels, and were treated shockingly and disrespectfully. Paulina at the desk was rude from the start. She initially wouldn't let us leave our luggage while waiting for the room, then agreed after an argument. We got in at 2 pm and found a horribly tiny room with two beds squeezed into a small space. There was nowhere to charge a phone except the socket behind the TV. The bathroom was cramped, and the toilet was peeling and unclean. Every hallway noise came straight into the room, and the bedding smelled bad. When we went down to cancel, Paulina laughed at us, waved us off, and wouldn't let us speak to anyone who spoke English. I know a little Spanish and had to argue with her. She didn't want to refund us and only offered to move us to another room. Don't go near this hotel!

Breakfast and the restaurant staff were the best parts of my stay. The reception staff seemed tired of answering guest complaints, and the check-in was already going badly for the guest ahead of me, who was mistakenly sent to an occupied room. I was then moved through three different rooms while they looked for one with a double bed. None had air conditioning, and the Wi-Fi was unreliable. The towels smelled of smoke, the bottom sheet had no elastic and became a mess overnight, and there were visible dirt marks on the walls and door frames. The TV was impossible to watch because of the static on the screen. You'd have to be an acrobat to use the bidet, and the mattress was in terrible shape, sagging in the middle. It was a bad experience overall, and I can't recommend this hotel.

The room was okay, and breakfast was good.

A reasonably priced place to use as a base for exploring the Bariloche area. Wi-Fi was the one letdown. Recommended.
