The helpful, friendly staff were a real positive, and the bar area was fairly comfortable. Breakfast was good too, with attentive staff keeping the buffet and tables tidy. The other guests were friendly, mostly Argentines and Chileans on holiday. Still, as a family with a young child, I wouldn't recommend this hotel for a toddler. If you're solo or a couple, it would probably be fine. Our room felt like a time capsule from the 1980s, and the hotel is dated and badly needs a full refurbishment. There was no fridge to store milk or baby food, though the bar happily gave us bedtime milk free of charge. The cot we first got was extremely old and only suitable for a newborn. Our one-year-old couldn't sleep safely in it, so we had to rearrange the furniture to make things safe. Staff kindly replaced it the next day with a more suitable travel cot, which we appreciated, but that one was also very old, stained, and dirty. The room was very hot in summer, with no air conditioning. They brought a fan when we asked, which made it a little more bearable. There was quite a lot of old hair in the bathroom plughole when we arrived, and you have to ask reception for a plug. The safe was unusable, apparently locked by someone who forgot their code, and now locked for good. The window shutters didn't work properly either and need replacing. Parking with a hire car is difficult. You can stop outside to unload bags, but the parking wardens are very attentive, and I saw several cars get fines. A car park one block away fills quickly and costs around $10000 ARS for 24 hours, so that would add up fast. We parked on Elflein street a few blocks away, though I don't know if that was allowed. We had no fines, but only left the car there overnight, not during the day. The room was cheap, under £50 GBP per night, so I think we got what we paid for. Also, most staff didn't speak much English. We didn't expect them to, but if you want things to go smoothly, be ready to learn or know some basic Spanish. It's polite too.
