Hotel Patagonia Signature

The bed was really comfortable, and the views were lovely. The room could have been cleaner when we arrived, though, and seemed to need some maintenance. The walls were very dirty, the skirting boards were coming apart, and the tiles were being cleaned. There’s no reception at the hotel. We’d asked for no housekeeping after a bad experience somewhere else, and they agreed, but when we came back, housekeeping had been in our room.

The mountain and lake views from the window are stunning. The rooms are clean, the shower is excellent, and check-in went fairly smoothly. It’s convenient for exploring the historic center, though parking is difficult since there are only a few street spaces. A comfortable stay with beautiful scenery.

The view from our perfectly clean room was fascinating, with the lake and mountains right there. We couldn’t stop looking at it. Breakfast was very good and served in a charming little cafe downstairs. We have lovely memories of Patagonia Signature in Bariloche, including our host, and would absolutely recommend the hotel.

The rooms look nice, the beds are comfortable and the view is great, but the building and service don’t live up to what you’d expect from a supposed three-star hotel. There’s no proper reception, and some of the plumbing seemed very cheap. A heater in one of our rooms dripped water, while humidity had swollen a bathroom door so much that it barely opened. That humidity seemed connected to the showers, which dripped so much that we had to keep the bathroom doors shut to sleep. At the end of our stay, water was also coming through the ceiling in the entrance hallway. We reported it around 8 p.m. on our last night and were told they already knew. They didn’t even put out buckets. The next day, someone cut open the whole ceiling to fix the pipes, leaving the hallway a mess. Breakfast was only okay. The sweet items and orange juice were good, but the ham was very cheap and the cereal tasted so old it was inedible. On our first day, the kitchen sponge was so old and disgusting that we threw it away rather than wash our plates with it. The next morning, the plates, glasses and cups had a horrible sour smell that almost made me throw up.
