Circus Hotel & Hostel

After my review on Booking.com, Federico, the manager, contacted me very politely to apologize for the inconvenience. He said it had been a mistake not to accommodate me, and that although he supported his team's decisions, he disagreed with this one. I'm still amazed by how much was said without simply explaining that his team had made a mistake. Nothing happened, and they lost a customer. I still think they should have offered some compensation after the mistake. I wasn't asking for a free night, just the chance to stay again without hassle. I've managed a 5-star hotel and have 30 years of experience in the hotel industry, including managing a team of 98 people. When mistakes happen, an apology alone isn't enough when you're providing a service. My intuition failed me this time. I don't understand why they canceled my reservation after I had checked in and paid without any issue. I found out from Paula at reception when I arrived, after an exhausting day at work, with no warning or explanation. I hadn't heard anything from the website since the night before. This has never happened to me before. I don't think I did anything wrong. I've always been respectful, paid without problems, and got along with everyone. I've even hosted barbecues, invited people, and helped create a sense of community while respecting the schedule. The receptionists invited me to lunch too, and Vicky and Eduardo in particular. When I asked Agustín, the manager, to explain, he first mentioned a hostel in San Telmo, which wasn't true. This came after a receptionist who was on vacation complained about me, without saying what the complaint was or why. I work in tourism, I'm 55, and I understand what the service involves. If the establishment has the right to refuse admission, it should explain what rule was broken. Otherwise, it feels like discrimination, perhaps aimed at a particular person. If they didn't extend my stay because I checked out late, I had booked for a specific day and was only waiting for them to assign me another room. That seems like a minor issue to me. This is outrageous.
