Claridge Hotel

The breakfast buffet costs 24 USD, and I didn’t think it was worth it. The bread and pastries weren’t fresh, the scrambled eggs weren’t cooked to order, and the coffee came from an office-style machine. The rooms were clean, but badly in need of renovation. The gym was very old, with rusty equipment, and the pool wasn’t open even though it was 25 degrees outside. This might have been a five-star hotel 20 years ago. It’s an okay place to stay, but it really shouldn’t be advertised as five-star.

This felt like a 1-2 star place. The floor was worn out, the bathtub was peeling, and the exhaust vent looked really scary, like it hadn't been cleaned. There was only one person working there.

We stayed five nights starting on New Year's Day and paid in full before arriving. Booking this hotel was a big mistake. It felt rundown, and the front desk said there was no internet for iPhones in the room. By the third day we found out you could only get a connection in the lobby. The rooms were clean but clearly needed renovation. The gym was very old, with rusty equipment, and the pool wasn't open even though it was 25 degrees outside. Breakfast cost 24 USD and wasn't worth it: the pastries and bread weren't fresh, and the eggs weren't made to order. The staff at the desk kept defending the hotel, which came across as very rude. It doesn't deserve to call itself a five-star hotel.

The room was very clean, and the breakfast was good. The location was also really good. But the walls were thin, and on two of our four nights people were making a lot of noise in the hall at 2am. They advertise a sauna, but when we arrived we were told it hadn't been available since the pandemic. The pool was only open for a private event.
