El Candil de San Telmo

San Telmo has colonial buildings, a quiet feel, and nice places to eat, including typical Buenos Aires bars with plenty of options to try. There are several nearby places to visit, like the Sewing Museum, and the Sunday market is exceptional. It's a bright, modern place with good service and a trustworthy location, well suited to a temporary stay.

We rented three apartments and were told they'd be ready in four hours. That threw off our plans for the day and cost us the whole thing. Room 7B had a clogged toilet and looked nothing like the photos. It was run-down and broken, and the terrace also didn't match its picture. Everything was old and in poor condition. We asked to change rooms because we had a six-year-old girl with us. Mrs. Cecilia didn't care about the request and never answered the phone. Nobody offered a solution, even though the rental wasn't cheap at all. We absolutely do not recommend it. Better to avoid it if you can.

We stayed through Airbnb for two months, three people in all. Having a separate bed for each of us and a large bathroom worked well, and the weekly cleaning was great. The kitchen was small, so it wasn't suited to making elaborate meals. Internet was a bit of a problem, with a weak signal and fairly slow speed. The location was convenient for the metro and Metrobus, and there was a Chinese store on the corner with fair prices.

Everything was close at hand, and the place was clean with an excellent location. The Wi-Fi was very poor, though, and the rooms were missing a few things, including an electric kettle.
