Franca City Hostel

I made my reservation through Booking.com, but only after it was confirmed did I get a message saying a credit card was needed for a deposit. That requirement wasn't mentioned during booking. When I arrived at Franca City Hostel, receptionist Emanuel said I couldn't check in without a credit card. I had a debit card and asked if there was another way to sort it out, but he was dismissive, uninterested, and no help. He didn't care that I had a confirmed booking and nowhere to stay. He just shrugged and sent me away. I had to find somewhere else, which was incredibly stressful and frustrating, all because the hostel wasn't transparent and gave terrible customer service. It was one of the worst hostel stays I've ever had. If I could give 0 stars, I would. Franca City Hostel clearly doesn't value guests or basic decency. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. If you don't have a credit card, expect to be turned away without a second thought. The whole thing left a bitter impression. The staff and management behaved in a completely unacceptable and disgraceful way.

People were always eating together in the kitchen, and the atmosphere was super friendly. The hostel was spotless, and the location was excellent, with a subway station and an atm on the same block. Best hostel I've stayed at in a long time.

Stores and shops are nearby, and the hostel is always clean. The beds are comfy, with subway and bus stops right there. Definitely recommend it for a longer stay.

The location is central and right by the metro, and my top bunk had plenty of space and good storage. The beds were comfortable and the place was really clean, so I enjoyed my stay. One thing to know, there's no hostel sign outside. Go to the building number, it's right next to Mostaza. Diana, thanks for being so helpful and lovely :)
