Hostel Suites Florida

The location and prices are great, and the staff were friendly. The rooms could be cleaner, and breakfast was barely worth one star, though I guess you get what you pay for. The plastic waste bothered me most. Cereal bowls, spoons, and cups were all disposable plastic, thrown away every day. For a place affiliated with youth hostelling international, I'd expect tougher environmental standards. There's room to do better. The breakfast staff especially didn't seem to have much to do.

The price wasn't bad, and the staff were friendly, but my room fell short. It smelled moldy, with visible mold on some walls. The doors all stuck, so people coming back at night kept banging them as they tried to shut them. A few small fixes would make the stay much more pleasant.

The staff were very good, and the shared social space was good too. The rooms and bathroom feel old and poorly maintained. The bed was decent, and while the shower wasn't great, it did the job.

The location is excellent, right in the center, with landmarks within walking distance. We arrived early and were allowed into our room before check-in. The room was clean, and most of the staff were friendly. The place feels seriously worn down, like it was built in the 70s and left as it was. Breakfast was basic but fine to start the day: buns, butter, jam, dulce de leche, yoghurt, cereal, and coffee. The kitchen was a real letdown. The pots and pans were so worn they should be thrown out, and broken bowls made even simple cooking, like an omelette or fried egg, a challenge.
