Hotel Turista

A really bad experience. The place was dirty, ugly, and smelly, and they took cash only, with no tickets. Nobody deserves that. See the attached photos.

I went there a few years after the pandemic, mainly because of the price, and regretted it as soon as I arrived. The man at reception was rather unfriendly and printed my bill on a sheet that had already been used on one side. It was winter, but they didn’t turn on the heat until 11 p.m., as if it hadn’t been cold before then. I got the feeling that something strange might be going on at the hotel, which made me suspicious. There was no TV, heating, or breakfast, and the blankets were old and worn. The shower leaked, and the bathroom fixtures had clearly seen better days. I got through the two days quickly and left even faster, promising myself I’d never return. It’s a shame, because the location could make this a great hotel, but I wouldn’t recommend it to my worst enemy.

We arrived at 11 PM in October 2016 with a reservation made in advance. I’d read the bad reviews but decided to give the place a chance, and I regret it. It left my family with a bad impression. The pillows were dirty, and the “friendly” receptionist refused to replace them. The hotel is falling apart. We were there for an hour and they charged me $600, so we went to another hotel. I wouldn’t recommend it for families or groups of friends. It was truly awful.

We’ve stayed here as a group for several years, and the service has always been very good. The flexible accommodation options are a plus, and for a relatively inexpensive hotel in a good location, the price feels reasonable. It’s an old place that hasn’t been maintained well. The mattresses are old and the beds aren’t very comfortable. Cleanliness is okay, though the musty smell from the carpet makes things feel dirty. The air conditioning doesn’t work, and some rooms have no TV. In rooms that do have one, it may not work or may only get a few channels.
