This was sadly the worst hostel stay I’ve had across all my travels. At 2 am I had to make my own bed, and the doors didn’t lock. During the night, people wandered through the hall and banged on doors with no one controlling it. At reception, they wouldn’t take card or pesos at the official exchange rate, only the blue dollar rate. The older man with a beard was incredibly rude and aggressive when I wouldn’t give in and pay twice the quoted amount. I was shocked by how badly he handled it. He only helped when it brought him closer to getting paid.

The beds were fine, but the plugs didn’t work. The kitchen was tiny and poorly equipped for cooking, and the bathrooms weren’t clean. The bigger issue was the price. Like other guests have said, what you’re charged on arrival is more than double the booking price. Staff said it was because they use the “dollar blue” exchange rate, but in two months travelling through Argentina this was the first time I’d run into a price discrepancy like this. A shared dorm bed was already very expensive, more than anywhere else I’d paid, but it was the false advertising and dishonesty that bothered me most. The night staff told me that nobody was forcing me to stay and I could leave if I wanted.
