La Bamba had such a warm, friendly feel, and we really enjoyed our short stay. Alberto was a great host, always around with answers and useful tips. The beds were comfortable, the showers hot, and it's an easy place to get around the city from.

The guys were really helpful, including with early check-in and late checkout. I also liked that they post a photo of each new arrival in a WhatsApp group, which gives guests a sense of security. For what you pay, you more or less know what to expect from a hostel. The shower area could be cleaner and better looked after, the living room walls need a fresh coat of paint, and the kitchen water tap is loose and needs fixing. Still, five stars.

The pod beds are huge bunks with curtains and a lamp, giving you plenty of privacy while you still get the social side of hostel life. Hostel La bamba is a fantastic base for short or long stays, and I'd definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Buenos Aires.

The people are lovely, kind, and very helpful. The hostel is nice and really clean, though it's clear some things aren't finished yet. A few lockers, for example, still can't be locked.
