:( Very strict hotel. They come up with their own rules for letting you in, and it's really stressful. I don't recommend it.

For a cheap stay, this worked out well for me, though the cleanliness brought my rating down to three stars. My room's floor looked like it hadn't been mopped in months, with big black marks from spills left to sit. I bought cleaning wipes and cleaned the smudges off the outlets and switches, wiped the sink, toilet, bedframe and tables, and did the floor myself. There were ants too, so I bought insecticide and sprayed the bathroom door frame, where they seemed to get in. I found more dead ants each day. I never saw them on the furniture, walls or bed, perhaps because the wood had been treated, but I think it could have been worse if I hadn't kept after them. If it had been cleaner, I'd have given four stars even with the ants. I may have had a better room than some. I stayed almost two weeks during the height of the Omicron outbreak, looking for somewhere inexpensive while it was spreading through the population. I caught it and had to isolate in the hotel for a few days. My room was fairly large, with air conditioning and a TV I never used. The Wi-Fi was excellent, with a strong, reliable signal. I streamed shows and movies and watched plenty of YouTube while stuck in the room. The building door stays locked, but I never waited more than 30 seconds for someone to buzz me in. The men at reception were friendly and accommodating. Plumbing was excellent too, even with frequent hot showers while I was sick, and the toilet flushed well. One odd inconvenience: they don't give you an AC controller, so you have to ask staff to adjust it. They always came quickly when I needed a change. Some mattresses, pillows, sheets and towels are old, worn and stained. I got a very new mattress, but peeked into other rooms during cleaning and saw some that looked thin and old. My foam pillows had stains, so I put my own pillowcases over them for peace of mind. The location is good, with buses by the building and lots of shops and restaurants within walking distance. Noise wasn't a problem for me.

The bathroom setup was poor, with the shower over the toilet and the toilet paper roll mounted two meters above the window. Our room was in a closed-off hallway that seemed like a service area, with garbage bags on the floor. When we arrived at 1 p.m., the three of us had a reservation for two rooms and were met by an employee who seemed unmotivated, barely communicative and somewhat rude. They handed us unwrapped towels and soap. When our fourth guest, a dark-skinned Brazilian, arrived at 2 a.m., staff said they needed his boarding pass, supposedly for immigration. He had already passed through immigration at the airport, and his paperwork hadn't been a problem. This requirement hadn't been mentioned in the reservation. They wouldn't let us send it right away because WhatsApp wasn't showing up. He couldn't add my number there, and staff didn't help. I asked for an email address, but they didn't have one. There was no willingness to resolve the problem. Terrible service, especially for foreigners. I'd rather forget the whole thing.
