Mons Hostel

The team were kind, friendly, and helped me with everything, from getting a SIM card to arranging a money transfer and sharing plenty of ideas for things to do. The hostel is in a great part of Recoleta, and the rooms and bathrooms were very clean. People also respected the evening quiet hours.

A friendly staff and a great female dorm with its own bathroom, lockers, and curtains made this a place I’d happily return to. It felt secure and central, with supermarkets, buses, restaurants, and attractions nearby, and the price was worth it.

I like this place a lot and have extended my stay three times. I’ll be back in about a week. Everything is clean, with plenty of hot showers, good wifi, and comfortable beds. The view of Ricoleta cementary is so unusual, and there are lots of events and tours. I recommend the free walking tour at 3pm. A tip: Empa's World is less than a block away, and it’s the only restaurant in Argentina where I think the prices are good. The staff are professional, too.

Aside from the nice view, I found little to like here. It’s a grey, sterile building with no life, and many guests seem to be digital nomads. The way guests are treated felt disrespectful, with people being ordered around after last-minute changes. Staff said they don’t control the booking system, so you might suddenly have to leave your room or find that your entry codes don’t work. They take no responsibility and even threaten to pack your belongings if you’re not there. I strongly recommend finding somewhere else.
