Park Royal City Buenos Aires

Watch out for bed bugs. The first room had them, and they bit my kid. The staff were very attentive and moved us to another room, but then I got bitten by bed bugs too.

We booked through the hotel’s official website, and I used my card to prepay for my guests, since I wasn’t traveling with them. At check-in, the front desk said the online charge was only a “deposit/guarantee” and made my guests pay for one night again, this time with their own card. That requirement had never been disclosed in the booking flow or confirmation. My guests checked out after that first night. The hotel marked the remaining nights as a “no-show” and refused a refund, citing a 100% penalty, even though we only learned about the pay-at-check-in requirement when they arrived. Management declined to help. The transparency and customer care were poor. If you expect to prepay for someone else, beware: the website charge doesn’t cover the stay.

The staff were friendly and knowledgeable, and gave us great recommendations for restaurants and things to do. The rooms are large and private, but the closet is rather small. It’s an old property downtown, within walking distance of almost everything. I’ve stayed at several other Park Royal locations, and the breakfast area here didn’t measure up. It felt crowded and had fewer items than the resorts. All in all, it’s good value for money.

We spent 9 days in Room 303, which is closer to the street, but the noise didn’t bother us. It’s a great hotel for a good night’s rest if you’re out exploring the city all day, and it’s good value for money. Breakfast runs from 7:30am to 10:30am, with a good buffet of cooked and cold options, both savoury and sweet. The location is great, within walking distance of restaurants and other major city sights. Friendly staff and good service all around. Highly recommended.
