Play Hostel Soho

Cony at reception was especially helpful, and she also puts together activities for guests that make the stay nicer. The hostel is good value, with a comfortable bed and most of what you need. It works well whether you’re just passing through BA or beginning your stay. A really good experience.

Great location and wonderful staff. We had a wonderful stay. The AC couldn’t keep up with this heat wave, but we appreciated the effort lol.

The booking problems made this a really difficult stay. They accepted payment for our reservation, then cancelled it without refunding us. We were left outside in the cold for four hours. Coney tried to warm us up, helped find somewhere to stay, and booked us for the following day. When we returned, that booking had disappeared too, so the manager worked hard to find us a room at the other play hostel. That was a kind gesture, but getting back the money for the first two nights we’d paid for and didn’t receive was difficult. Connie and the manager were amazing, but I wouldn’t book this hostel if arriving at night. Spend more and go somewhere else.

Our second stay was much smoother. The receptionist was friendly, spoke English and got us checked in quickly with a smile, thank you for that. The large private room with its own bathroom was spacious and worth paying the difference for. The first time, the receptionist wasn’t very nice, spoke no English and made a simple check-in take a long time. We had a twin room for two that night, and it was dusty, with someone else’s hair on the mattress and pillows. We’d chosen a shared toilet, but the only one upstairs was unavailable much of the time.
