Ribera Sur Hotel

My room faced the patio, so it was very quiet, and the lounge in the basement was great. WiFi worked really well. The bed was large and comfortable, the place was very clean with daily housekeeping, and the shower had good hot water. Tap water was drinkable, and the 24-hour reception was a plus. Staff were mostly nice. The rooms are a little run down and very dark, so not pleasant for spending the day in. My small window was filthy. Breakfast was okay, mostly toast and lots of sweet things, though the coffee was good. It's close to Puerto Madero and San Telmo Market, but the area otherwise isn't very nice. There's a busy, polluted road right outside and some shady people around, so after dark it may be best to go out in a group.

The location was convenient, and we enjoyed our stay. Our room, 208, was nice, and the staff were pleasant. Barbara at the front desk was especially lovely and helpful. The only small drawback was that there were no outlets or reading lights by the bed.

San Telmo market is within walking distance, and the hotel's in a handy part of Buenos Aires. The outdoor area is lovely, with a small pool, and the WiFi is excellent. Rooms are simple but clean. The staff really go out of their way to make things enjoyable, and their English is excellent. A great mid-priced option in BA.

The hotel is clean and close to the markets, with several buses stopping right outside, but the street is extremely noisy. For what we paid, I expected the place to be better maintained and more up to date. The cold basin tap didn't work, the shower felt very dated and had a plastic curtain, and the bathroom door needs repair. There was no kettle or tea and coffee in the room, just one tumbler and one wine glass for two people. The WiFi was slow, and there are no lunch facilities on weekends. Power outlets were only on one side of the beds.
