Sarmiento Palace Hotel

For one night, this is a good value. The room was nothing special, but the bed was comfortable and the shower had strong pressure. I was pleasantly surprised by the breakfast quality, and the lobby and restaurant are really the main draw.

The included breakfast is quite good and makes the hotel especially good value. It’s functional and comfortable, though a bit worn. Ask for a room away from the main street, since it can get noisy. The online check-in took needlessly long, especially for our group of six, and I’ll skip that process at other hotels that use it.

I can’t figure out where they took the pictures from. The room is so small I couldn’t get far enough back to take a proper view of it. And outside the window in Buenos Aires, it isn’t fog, it’s just a white wall right there. Don’t forget to ask for the air conditioning controller, because there isn’t one in the room.

The hotel was clean, very nice, and the service was good. My first time in a mega-city, and I loved it! We spent five days there, which felt like enough. The city is noisy, though. We walked a lot, saw the Botanical Garden and Japanese Garden, and took a guided bus tour to see more and learn about the city’s history. The buildings’ architecture is superb. A walk around the harbor is a must, with street artists and lovely discoveries along the way. We also went to tango shows. Wow!
