SLS Buenos Aires Puerto Madero

We stayed four nights at the SLS Hotel and have just left Buenos Aires. It made a perfect base for exploring on foot or using taxis arranged by the hotel concierge. We had a fabulous time and hope to return to the SLS hotel later this month before heading back to France. Our room was spacious, remarkably clean, and had wonderful river views. The breakfast buffet had an unmatched range of choices, and dinner at the hotel restaurant was delicious and nicely presented. Their poke bowls and “chicken a la brasa” were among the best we’ve had. We especially liked the contemporary art and interior design, particularly in the lobby. Management and staff were brilliant and happy to help with anything, including getting our delayed luggage back. The reception and concierge teams were very helpful, and the restaurant staff were friendly and efficient. They all seemed to enjoy working there. We’d definitely return to this hotel in Buenos Aires and recommend it for a great stay in a perfect location.

The rooms are beautiful, with balconies, and the people here made the stay feel personal from the start. At the front desk, concierge, housekeeping, and restaurant, everyone knew my name and seemed to anticipate what I needed before I asked. Their help felt sincere rather than scripted, and they went well beyond what I expected. From the moment I walked in, I was met with real warmth and enthusiasm. The SLS Buenos Aires is one of the best hotel experiences I’ve had anywhere, in Latin America or elsewhere. This kind of service comes across as part of the place’s culture, not something picked up overnight.

The front desk and breakfast service were both top notch, and the breakfast was very good. It cost a bit more, but we thought it was worth it. Our room had huge windows and plenty of space, plus a balcony looking out over the water where we could watch the sunset. It was quiet too, a welcome change after a week in a hotel with terrible soundproofing. I’d definitely stay here again next time we’re back.

For $250 a night, I expected more than what feels like a 3-4 star hotel. The rooms are dark and don’t have a proper desk or chair for working. The pool isn’t heated, so it’s unusable. I took two snacks and a can of Coke from the minibar, and the charge was 51,000 pesos. At check-in they also take a $1,000 deposit, as if they’re guarding gold. Service was okay, which is about the only positive thing I can say. I strongly recommend avoiding this terrible place.
