Up Recoleta Hotel

We stayed for two nights and had a wonderful time. The staff were great, and I loved the old-fashioned elevator where you have to work the double doors yourself to get it moving. There’s a GREAT coffee machine at reception, with the smaller one making stronger coffee. They also have great tea and hot chocolate, even though I don’t like hot chocolate, ha ha. Argentine friendliness and hospitality rule! The district felt VERY SAFE to us, even walking at night, so it’s great for first-timers. It’s near AEP airport, not EZE, which is on the Atlantic coast.

We stayed in early January and loved the quiet area. Our street-facing room was quiet too, which was just what we wanted after arriving in BA and needing some peace. The rooms are small, but that works if you’re out all day. The AC was top notch, the staff were super nice, and the water bottle refill in the lobby was a big plus. I’d definitely stay here again.

The room was clean, but so cramped that even one person would struggle. I’m surprised they sell these rooms to couples. By U.S. standards, I’d put this closer to a two-star place, mostly because of the room size.

It’s handy for walking to Palermo, and the hotel itself is pretty basic. Our small room had what looked like food stains on the wall beside the bed. The bathroom soap smelled like grape bubblegum, so we bought our own.
