Via Arriba B&B

Inside, Via Arriba feels like stepping into a more gracious time. Gisela welcomed us through the front door into a lovely apartment on the first floor of an old building, kept in immaculate condition and full of elegant charm. The quaint old lift opens onto the spacious apartment, with its separate suites. Claudia lovingly made a sumptuous breakfast, which we enjoyed on the large open terrace. The street outside is dirty and poorly maintained, so we were uneasy as we approached. But the location is hard to beat, just a block from Avenida 9 de Julio and close to transport and everything we needed. We loved our stay at Via Arriba.

The apartment was as described, but the staff's service was awful. Communication was poor, and even though I'd told them I would arrive late, I ran into several problems when I got there. Then the property lost power, and they had no solution until I asked for a full refund. The refund was handled badly too, and not the way we'd agreed. I wouldn't recommend staying here.

Claudia was always friendly and attentive, while Gisella brought such a personal touch to running this B&B. It's right in the heart of Buenos Aires, and I'd give it ten stars if I could. Fully recommend it. Google seems to agree, and I'm not the only one saying so.

Good value for the money, with a decent breakfast and a quiet spot right downtown. The neighborhood isn't Buenos Aires' prettiest. PLEASE NOTE: THEY DON'T ACCEPT CREDIT CARDS.
