Hostal Mirador del Valle

The room was clean and fine for a night or two, but we didn't get the mountain view we had booked, which cost a bit more. We arrived around 9 p.m., and the person who checked us in didn't seem very knowledgeable. When we brought it up the next day before paying, she offered a 1,000-peso discount, less than $1. If we'd known we'd get a regular room, we would have chosen the cheaper option. I wanted to leave a Booking review, but we never got an invitation, probably because we'd said we'd mention the issue in our review.

We had a quiet night here, and the hostel was clean and peaceful, though very basic. The terrace felt like something you paid extra for just by existing. One air conditioner served two rooms, which helped but wasn't enough, and the fan in room 4 acted like a helicopter, blowing only upward. Breakfast was modest, best for someone without big expectations or much of an appetite. There's no Wi-Fi on the terrace, and in the rooms it comes and goes. We wanted mate on the terrace one afternoon and were charged $1000 for water. The next day water was free again, a tourism mystery. Parking also cost extra, a detail they only mentioned after everything else.

The room was warm and spotless when we arrived, right down to the dust-free floor. The bed was big and comfortable, with soft sheets, and the shower had good pressure. Even the towels smelled pleasantly fragrant. Breakfast was simple and delicious. Congratulations to the staff for such excellent service.

The staff are excellent, and breakfast is always delicious and served generously. It's such a warm, lovely place. Highly recommended!
