Rey del Bosque Apart Hotel

The patio and park are the standout feature of Rey del Bosque. They’re spacious, beautiful, and very well kept. The cleaning staff are excellent, cleaning daily if you let them know or leave a sign on the door. The teacher looking after the children was excellent too. A few things need attention. The outdoor pool can’t be fully enclosed anymore, so it can’t be used on cold days like it could in previous years. Two cabin roller blinds came off and stayed that way during our whole stay. We reported a broken air conditioner, but it wasn’t fixed until a few days later. Hairdryers aren’t left in the bathrooms, with just one per cabin, so bring your own if you usually use more than one. The fridge is very old and doesn’t work well, though the freezer does. They removed the gym and jacuzzi, even though the website lists them as included, which is a shame. The owners often fix things themselves, like the breakfast bar doorknob. A few times I found ants in the cold cuts at breakfast; I reported it, and they cleaned it up. They should also say when breakfast items need replenishing. The food is delicious, so it’s a shame when it runs out. Watch out for nails on the stairs so you don’t hurt yourself. I’d return if they addressed these problems, because the complex is beautiful.

A very negative experience. On the afternoon of December 31st, a male staff member, apparently the manager, came over from the complex across the street with two other men. They confronted an elderly gentleman, around 80 years old, who was alone, and shouted at him for parking his truck beside the hotel, which may have been public space. He apologized, but they kept yelling and came uncomfortably close to him. When he turned around, they moved even closer. They followed him to his vehicle and told him that “if he didn't move it, they were going to kick his truck.” It felt like harassment and needless aggression, disturbing the peace in a tourist area and making the surroundings feel unsafe. Whether or not the parking area belonged to the hotel, there are proper ways to handle the situation. These people showed no courtesy. I wouldn’t recommend this place. No one should have to experience that.

The cabins are comfortable and the place is nice. The owner was especially good, and the service was very good. Breakfast had a lot of variety and was very good. Cleanliness could be better, though. At times it was a bit dirty, and we had to ask them to clean again.

The place was beautiful and just as described, and the staff and owner were so friendly and helpful. They were always attentive to what we needed. We had a wonderful experience. Highly recommended!
