La Masa A Hotel Boutique

Breakfast was the highlight: it’s included, delicious, and nearly everything is homemade. There was bread with homemade jams and jelly, scrambled eggs, yogurt and granola, fresh orange juice and fruit, cheese, and sausage. It’s self-serve, and pastries, cheese, coffee, and fruit are available any time for a snack. They also offer as much wine as you want for free, and their local selection was better than some of the wineries we visited. One night our travel companion wasn’t feeling well, so we stayed in, and they made us a delicious light dinner with wine for a very small fee. La Masia felt more like staying at a friend’s home than at a hotel. It’s a lovely little boutique hotel where we stayed while visiting Mendoza wine country. The house has eight bedrooms, each with its own bathroom, a dining area, an indoor common room, and a lovely lanai. Outside there’s plenty of space, green grass and gardens, a large pool, cabana, and covered patio with a barbecue. The grounds are enclosed by a wall, and guests get a key fob for the eight foot gate, so it feels secure and secluded. The owner and his lady staff and chef were warm, welcoming, and accommodating. After an hour, you feel like friends visiting their home. Everything was spotlessly clean. It’s an older place, so some rooms could use updating, but that adds to its charm. I only wish we’d stayed longer. I highly recommend La Masia!

Such a lovely place for enjoying Luján de Cuyo and the area around Mendoza City. We’ll be adding it to our list of places to return to.

The hosts made our two-night stay especially nice, with thoughtful recommendations and even an asado treat. We also loved the food and wine. The house, garden, and pool were all beautiful and clearly well cared for.

You’ll need a rental car for trips into the city or for sightseeing, since the place is a little remote. Still, the team is so friendly and helpful that it’s well worth staying.
