Cabañas Hoja de la Tierra

We stayed in a roomy cabin with everything we needed and a great view of the pool. It’s a very quiet, nature-filled spot, just right for switching off for a while. The owners are lovely and the service was excellent. Thanks, Ana, Ayelen, and Alejandro. We hope to be back soon 🌿❤️

We booked three nights, from Saturday the 13th through Tuesday the 16th, but ended up leaving early. We were hoping to rest, yet the TV stayed at a “perfect” volume all day and night, and three of us had to share one plate and spoon. The oven turned out to be for show, so we tried cooking on the burners. Then those stopped working too. When we asked Alejandro, who we think is the owner, he just said, “I don't know what to tell you.” The eventual fix was to change the gas cylinder, along with advice not to use the oven because it might leak gas. That didn’t exactly make us feel safe, especially since Alejandro had already confirmed on our first day that the oven didn’t work. Memorable for all the wrong reasons.

The property has a nice setting, but it needs better upkeep. We mentioned the dampness, a refrigerator full of ice, dirty curtains, stained cushions, and a grill-style oven in poor condition to the manager. He seemed to dismiss or reject the problems we raised. After reading other comments, I feel that things won’t improve unless the owners listen to visitors. They’d be better off dealing with complaints without getting defensive.

I’ve been here twice, with several years between visits. The grounds are lush and there’s a playground for kids, and everyone was kind and helpful. Our cabin was huge and comfortable, though there were some damp patches on the walls that could use attention. Breakfast is simple but fine. It’s a bit away from the center, though manageable by car. Wi-Fi barely worked and only came and went, so that needs improving. I’d still happily return and recommend the place.
