La Casona de Susana

Susana and Jesica looked after us so well and were kind throughout our stay. The room was comfortable, with a fridge, electric kettle, ceiling fan, air conditioning, and flat-screen TV. Breakfast was delicious and had variety every day, and the value for money was excellent. The Wi-Fi signal in that area was weak, which was the only downside. We didn’t get to use the pool, but it looked lovely and clean.

We got a good price, and the pool was nice. The room, though, had old furniture, a loud ceiling fan, and a CRT TV. Ants came out every night and marched along the wall. Breakfast and air conditioning cost extra. It’s one block from the river, though there’s no riverbank there, and 15 blocks from the town center.

We booked directly through WhatsApp rather than an app and had five very peaceful, pleasant nights. Susana was a lovely host and so kind to my daughter and me. At first, she moved us to a superior room than the one we’d booked without charging extra. The room came with a small fridge and fan at no extra cost, and was cleaned every two days. Towels and bath towels were provided, along with two rolls of toilet paper. Breakfast was included, with coffee, milk, juice, toast, sweet bread, cakes, cream cheese, jam, dulce de leche, and more. Susana also had a wide choice of teas for me to enjoy in the room, which had an electric kettle. I could smoke on the balcony or the terrace by the pool. The pool was clean and very nice, and stayed open until 11 pm. The entrance door was locked at 11 for security, but we had a key to come and go as we pleased. Air conditioning was available, though there was an extra charge if we used it for more than nine hours, and stained towels also came with a charge, which I understand.

My 80-year-old mother came from Buenos Aires with her partner this summer and had a wonderful time. She enjoyed excursions and felt very well cared for. I highly recommend it for the owner’s hospitality and the beautiful setting.
