Colonia Carlos Pellegrini and its wildlife are well worth the trip, but I wish we’d booked somewhere else to stay. It cost $800 US dollars for three nights, and the experience didn’t match the price. The itinerary was vague and felt thrown together, and the host never answered our email questions once we arrived. The food was awful. On the first day it seemed like reheated microwave food, and it didn’t get better when the chef returned. Our room fridge didn’t work, and there was mould in the room. The location is central and quiet, and there’s a pool we enjoyed. The room was spacious, with a fan, air conditioning, and a good shower, though it needs maintenance: the bathroom needs grouting, the plaster has cracks, and the doors were hard to open and close. Staff were friendly, but didn’t speak English, so be prepared to practice Spanish or use Google Translate. I don’t regret coming for the wildlife, just wish we’d stayed elsewhere.

We went away with friends recently, and the staff were so attentive. Emilio put a lot of care into making sure we learned about the area. The rooms were clean and spacious, and the homemade food was healthy. They even improvised a gluten-free, vegan menu for my sister without the tour operator having told them. 10 out of 10 and more. Highly recommended!

Teresa, Clelia, Tiziana, Roxana, and Emilio were all kind and attentive while we were there. I stayed over the long weekend in November, though, and the inn seemed short on maintenance. The boiler broke, so we had to go to the other end of our rooms to shower.

We came back really satisfied. The excursions were led by the best guide, and the food was delicious and plentiful. The staff were extremely friendly and did everything they could to make our stay comfortable. The facilities are clean, comfortable, and very nice. The price-quality ratio is excellent. Highly recommended.
