Hotel Lourd Mary

I won't be coming back. The room was roomy, but damp, and getting a shower was a long wait: the water took 20 minutes or more to warm up, then came out in a weak trickle. I paid extra for an American breakfast and waited half an hour for coffee with milk, half a serving, and a piece of toast. That isn't an American breakfast. The reservation and payment were frustrating too. When I went to pay the difference, the woman working there said cash only, after making a fuss about the reservation. Service wasn't helpful, and they clearly need more staff. The person responsible for cleaning was friendly, and I appreciated how clean things were. I also don't get why guests have to hand over their keys when they're left on the counter at night with nobody checking them. Fortunately, my neighbors were honest.

The quiet patio was a real pleasure, with birds singing while we spent the afternoon there. We had a lovely weekend at this converted old house, almost in the center of Concepción del Uruguay. The rooms were comfortable, tidy, and very clean. The owner and staff were especially kind and attentive. Breakfast costs extra and came with toast, croissants, cheese, dulce de leche, butter, tea, and delicious, high-quality coffee. A beautiful hotel and a real treat for our stay in Concepción.
