Hosteria la Posada del Peregrino

Don’t be fooled by appearances. This senior living facility is appalling and in precarious condition. My grandfather lived there, and one day I arrived to find his mate, sweet, crawling with ants. He was basically drinking mate with ants in it! The owner and manager are incredibly rude, especially Gastón. Residents’ belongings go missing, staff turnover is constant, and they demand monthly increases far beyond inflation. They seem completely out of touch with retirees’ reality. They take under-the-table payments, and if you ask for a receipt, they won’t give one. If they do, they charge an extra 20%. A total disaster. Never put your grandparents there.

At night, there’s only one person looking after all the elderly residents, and each shift has just two caregivers. When I visit, the caregivers seem to change constantly, sometimes up to two new people in a week. My father was staying at the residence on A. Del Valle Street, between Sarmiento and 25 de Mayo. He broke his hip and was left bedridden for an entire day. There’s no proper oversight of medication or even residents’ clothing. This place is a disaster, and I can’t understand how it was ever authorized. It doesn’t deserve even one star.

The rooms are really nice, and the bathrooms have plenty of space. A great place.

The pleasant, peaceful surroundings make for a calm place where grandparents can spend their days.
