Hostel Alvear

The building is amazing, with a great rooftop, and the rooms are super clean and modern. It’s well located for sightseeing, and the staff are friendly. Amazing!

Luis, one of the managers, went out of his way to help me with some personal things I needed assistance with. His kindness made a big difference. Hostel Alvear has a relaxed, friendly atmosphere and is in a really convenient spot for exploring Córdoba. I had a lovely stay and highly recommend it if you want a comfortable, welcoming hostel.

The constant noise made the stay a bit frustrating. Volunteers and long-term residents were mostly responsible, with talking, yelling, singing, music, and loud cooking at all hours, plus middle-of-the-night showers and noisy work at odd times. I’ve stayed in countless hostels over the last few months and know they can get noisy, but this felt senseless and unnecessary. Clearer rules and more care and respect from everyone could help. The location is great, it’s kept reasonably clean throughout the day, and a couple of staff members are very friendly and helpful. Rooms and facilities are about average.

We had a pizza night and a fun day trip to a nearby river, and the beers on tap were delicious. They also run night walking tours that go to a language exchange, which I’d recommend 100%. The volunteers are amazing, the beds are super comfortable, and the rooms have air conditioning. I loved the hostel so much that my planned two days in Cordoba turned into almost a week. It’s also a great place to meet people.
