We ended up spending part of my day off searching for somewhere else to stay, though thankfully there are plenty of other good options nearby. This was an upsetting experience, and I wouldn’t want to stay here. In all our time in Argentina, we’ve never had worse customer service, though most people we’ve met here have been much nicer. We’d booked a night at the Cabanas through Booking.com. The owner, Roxana, messaged me with some information and her WhatsApp number. When I asked if we could pay by debit card, she said yes, with a 7% surcharge. I told her this was the first time we’d been asked to pay extra for using a debit card at accommodation in Argentina, and asked if she’d accept pesos or USD since 7% seemed very high. She replied, “cancel your booking,” then stopped answering. When she eventually got back to me, she said I was “accusing her,” told me they no longer had availability for me, and said I should cancel.

We loved our stay. The rooms were really comfortable, the service was kind and caring, and it was super quiet. A perfect spot in El Bolson.

The wooden chalet is really cute, and the service was so good and friendly. It had what we needed, so I’d recommend it. Just watch the tall staircase if you’re distracted, it feels a bit risky. The towels smelled like fabric that hadn’t dried properly, which bothered me a little.

Roxana was wonderful. When she saw our heavy backpacks and heard our plans, she offered to keep our things so we could climb the mountain with less to carry. Our reservation was for one night, but we picked everything up six days later. We were incredibly comfortable too. Thanks, Ro!

Roxana was fantastic and really attentive to us. The cabin was comfortable and had everything we needed for cooking. I went with my daughter, and we’ll be back. Great location.
