We paid $300 a night for a two-bed room that felt like a basic budget room, not the luxury the photos suggested. Bahia Redonda Hotel has a recently added wing that wasn't finished, and white construction dust kept coming out of the baseboards. There was no air conditioning, and the small windows barely let air through, so the room got hot in the summer sun and stayed uncomfortable even with the cool night air outside. Reception eventually found us a fan after several calls, but we still didn't sleep comfortably. The room was very bare: no hand soap, towel hooks, wall art, coffee or tea, or wastebaskets. They also lost my friend's jeans during the one-day laundry service and offered no compensation. I can't think of anything good about the experience. There are plenty of better hotels in El Calafate.

The breakfast buffet had a lot to choose from, including scrambled eggs, ham, cheese, yogurt, coffee, tea, bread, and fruit. The rooms were comfortable, and the hotel is right in Calafate's town center, with shops, restaurants, pharmacies, and convenience stores an easy walk away.

Great location, nice rooms, and staff who were very kind and helpful.

A nationwide general strike on Feb 19 left me stranded in Buenos Aires, so I couldn't fly to El Calafate. I tried several times to get a refund, but the hotel kept dodging my request. Ridiculous.

The rooms are spacious and comfortable, and the hotel is ideally placed close to the center of El Calafate.
