The team knew the area well and were friendly, and the lobby had complimentary little treats and juice. Our hotel packed lunches were tasty, though expensive, which seems typical here. The restaurant was excellent, the bar even better, and service was very good. For a small mountain town far from the nearest city, I think this is probably the best luxurious stay around. A couple of things let us down. The hot tub and spa water was murky and didn't look clean, especially by the end of the day. Our room faced the main entrance, and with the windows open we could hear loud barking dogs and people coming and going late and early. It's convenient for starting hikes, but some hotels and hostels are much closer to the trailhead. This one is about a 20 minute walk, roughly a mile, from many of the hikes. That extra mile at both ends of the day, especially after a long hike, can really hurt.

We came back from the hikes to a lovely spa with a jacuzzi and sauna overlooking the scenery. Booking ahead made it feel like we had the spa to ourselves. The mountain views are spectacular, and the rooms were beautiful and spotless, with really comfortable beds. The hotel is right in the center of town, though its raised position above the main road keeps it peaceful. The staff were welcoming and very helpful. Mariano deserves a special thanks for taking such care of our needs. The restaurant was outstanding too, with excellent meat and fish, homemade pasta among the best I've had as an Italian, and a wide choice of quality wines. Chef Agustín cooked delicious meals and even made empanadas especially for us, though they weren't on the menu. We'd heard his empanadas were the best, and they were! A real gem in a magical place. If you're visiting El Chaltén, this hotel is a must.

The staff are what made this beautiful stay even better. Everyone was thoughtful, attentive, and kind, and Ignacio gave us great walking recommendations, even though rain got in the way for our first two days. We were welcomed with sweets and water each night, and the bed was very comfortable. The room was clean. We had a Mountain View room, but I'd suggest the valley view, which looks stunning. Breakfast was filling and very good, and we ate at the restaurant on two nights because the food and personalized service were so good. The bar and restaurant have gorgeous valley views, and there's a small spa with a sauna. The town and trails are walkable. The hotel is on a hill, so there's a short uphill walk, and I did wonder if it gets more wind. It was gusty while we were there, but the views make up for it. We loved this personal, well-run hotel for the first three nights of our Argentinian trip. Thank you.

Los Cerros made a great base for two lovely hikes, and we had a very enjoyable two-night stay. The breakfast buffet was delicious, and dinner at the restaurant one evening came with spectacular views, good food, and pleasant staff. They provide filtered water for the rooms, and the bar will refill hiking bottles, which was such a treat. The views over the valley are the best in town, and we loved having a drink there at the end of the day. Highly recommend.

Mariano and the team welcomed us warmly and were wonderful hosts throughout. Everyone was friendly, smiling, and ready to help. From its spot on top of a hill, Los Cerros has a great valley view. Our room was clean and well equipped, with a fan, a heater, and a comfortable bed close to queen size. We had a wonderful stay and highly recommend it.
