The booking deposit was high, and because it was peak season with nowhere else to stay, we paid it before seeing what the place was like. The photos are old and don't reflect the reality. On arrival they charged us extra, including for the children's stay even though they'd said from the start they wouldn't charge for them. The price was very high for the condition of the place. It was cold and they didn't give us blankets. Some beds had no sheets, and the mattresses were old and dirty. The room was damp with peeling paint, and the bathroom was disgusting and damp too. The woman who greeted us provided VERY BAD service. I DO NOT RECOMMEND IT! HORRIBLE PLACE! Definitely not family-friendly or somewhere to take children.

Our rooms were tiny and uncomfortable, and the heat was so stifling we couldn't sleep at night. The men's bathroom was tiny too, and showering there was uncomfortable. The kitchen had no gas for heating anything, so we couldn't even get hot water for mate in the morning. The entrance was nicely decorated and also served as a bar at night, where you could order food or drinks. There's a barbecue area as well. We found out about these when the manager showed us around on arrival, kindly marking points of interest in town on a map.

This is a cheap hostel, but really only good for sleeping. It's centrally located near all the bars on the waterfront, and even during Carnival the price was low. There's a small terrace for barbecues. The rooms were terrible, though: peeling paint and very old mattresses, sheets, and pillows. There was a lot of noise early in the morning, and crickets chirped all night as if they were in the room. I wouldn't recommend it for a long stay or if you plan to spend much time at the hostel.

It's close to the center, casino, a nightclub, and public beaches, and the price was low compared with other places. The terrace is nice, the beds were comfortable, and the rooms had a fan and air conditioning. Staff and owner are very friendly, and the owner gives good advice about Gualeguaychú. The place is clean and tidy, but there are only two bathrooms for the whole hostel, one for men and one for women, and both are a bit run down. In the women's bathroom, the shower was cold and the countertop was in poor shape.
