The mountain setting is lovely, and I enjoyed the surroundings, but the organization and communication during my three-night stay fell well short. I paid $270,000, which included breakfast, afternoon tea, a massage session, and a barbecue. Since I was traveling alone, the barbecue was for one person. At check-in, the person I’d been communicating with wasn’t there. A gentleman kindly gave me the keys and explained a few basics, which I appreciated, but many important details were left out. I had to ask or figure things out as I went. The massage day and time changed that same day without enough notice. I also wasn’t told when the barbecue meat would arrive, so I couldn’t plan my meals. They brought breakfast and afternoon tea to the cabin, which I appreciated, but nobody asked whether I wanted coffee or milk. I don’t drink either, and they left two thermoses without saying what was in them. I ended up having mate cocido I’d brought from home because the kitchen only had digestive tea bags and there wasn’t another breakfast option. Afternoon tea was basically a slice of cake. Housekeeping was included, but nobody explained the schedule or how it worked. I messaged the person I booked with to ask about cleaning and the linen change and got no reply. One morning, when staff brought breakfast, their supervisor finally told me the linen wouldn’t be changed until the fourth day, even though I’d paid for three days. These things should be explained clearly at the start, instead of discovered along the way. Wi-Fi and DirecTV were advertised. In my cabin, Wi-Fi was practically nonexistent and only worked by the pool, so I used my own mobile data for most of the stay. DirecTV was installed, but most movie channels weren’t available and only a few worked. The biggest letdown was the lack of hospitality and communication. When I left, nobody even said hello or thanked me for coming, which feels like a basic courtesy at any accommodation. The surroundings are truly worthwhile, and better organization and guest service could make the experience much better. I’d advise anyone staying here to check how the included services work beforehand, to avoid confusion and unfriendly looks when asking questions.
