Astonishing.

The owner and receptionist made us feel so welcome. The house itself is lovely, with a fascinating history, and the price was incredible. Our room was spacious, and all the rooms open onto a plant-filled courtyard where we could sit with mate or read when the weather was warm. It was spotless, though the perfume in the rooms was a little strong for us. Since the bathroom is across the courtyard, getting there at night can be inconvenient. The layout also makes it a great place to disconnect from technology.

The service was perfect, and they even let us leave some luggage there so we could travel lighter to Iruya. The rooms are spacious, the dining room is large and lovely, and the mattress, sheets, and towels were all impeccable. The shower was wonderful too. The bathroom is outside, but that was perfectly fine.

Sofia took good care of us, and the layout kept the bedrooms separate from the living and dining room, kitchen, and bathroom, so there wasn't much noise between them. This colonial-style house has that character throughout, and the inner patio is a nice spot for breakfast or a snack. There seemed to be a water problem during our stay, though, and we had no water in the afternoon or evening. It's unfortunate they didn't tell us beforehand, since it seemed they already knew about it.
