The pool setup was great: one was very hot, almost like a jacuzzi, while the other was much cooler. Our first room had a broken air conditioner, but reception moved us quickly, which was good. The hotel is right next to a casino, and I won enough there to cover the room! One odd thing was the number of male contractors around. It almost felt like a hotel for men only. The receptionist even asked my wife if we were married, as if she assumed some other kind of arrangement. 😀

The restaurant was surprisingly good, and I’d recommend it. Service was good too. It’s the biggest hotel in town, though the rooms feel dated and could use a refresh soon. Typical small-town place.

We came away disappointed, mostly because the room made it hard to sleep before continuing our road trip. Although the hotel was nearly empty, our family of four was put in a 12m2 room on the first floor, beside the elevator, with the trash bin just outside the window. The elevators were noisy, like they ran on a diesel generator, and each call made a ping that woke us up. Quads went past every morning on their way to the desert, great for an excursion, but not when you need rest. Such a shame, because the place seems to have what it takes for 4+ stars. Breakfast was great, especially the fruit 🍎 and decent coffee ☕️, but they missed the opportunity.

The room smelled and didn’t feel inviting for sleeping or washing up. The staff were quite unfriendly, which stood out after a month traveling through Patagonia. It’s far from the city center, and neither the restaurant nor breakfast was especially good. The pool and its surroundings were hard on the eyes.

They charge upper-class hotel prices, but some of the service doesn’t meet the standard they seem to promise. Avoid room 115 if you can, it’s right by the pool pump system and very noisy.
