V & D Casas - Mar Azul

We found Gabriela and Gerardo easy to reach whenever we had questions, and we'd definitely come back. The street is very quiet at night, and the beach is about a five-block walk; being at the end of Mar Azul also meant the beach stayed peaceful, even in mid-January. The houses are comfortable and well equipped, with air conditioning in every room, plenty of appliances, and lots of beach gear, though there are no umbrellas. I especially appreciated having a washing machine. The buildings look fairly new and are well maintained. Inside, there are two bedrooms upstairs and two more beds downstairs, a good layout for a big family or friends. Just take care with small children, since the stairs and balcony or terrace have no protection. There's a garden between the houses, and the pool was very clean and got sun until late. A few things could be better: the pillows are quite worn, the bathroom needs more towel hooks, and the summer cleaning, which happens twice a week, is very basic and mostly just sweeping. There's air conditioning, which is helpful in hot weather; I imagine it's used for heat in winter, since I didn't see radiators.

These houses are lovely and in perfect shape. The modern, practical design lets in lots of natural light. The location is great, near the beach and town center, but far enough away to stay quiet and sleep well.

Designed by architect Luciano Kruk, this spectacular house is modern and really comfortable. It's set among the woods in a very peaceful spot, about six blocks from the beach, and would be great for a family. The manager is excellent and always available. The four units share a fantastic pool, and the house has all the amenities: a grill, washing machine, TV, internet, air conditioning in every room, and a very well-equipped kitchen.
